Volunteering

Passenger Assistant
Assist someone with mobility problems to participate in a weekly social activity

South West Community Transport runs a Hoppa Shoppa service for its clients. This service provides a minibus each Saturday and takes our clients to a variety of shopping centres, supermarkets and day trips.

These clients have difficulty using public transport and some require to use folding wheelchairs or tri-walkers to assist them to get round the places visited.

Without someone to help push these mobility aids, these clients would not be able to take part in the service.

Our Passenger Assistants allow those who are isolated and struggle to leave their home to meet socially, get their weekly shopping and live more independently.

Full training will be given and a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check will be carried out.
